SwingLifestyle (SLS)Our review.

What SwingLifestyle is

SwingLifestyle — SLS to everyone in the scene — is the veteran American swingers network that refuses to die. Its homepage calls it "the World's Largest Swinger Community", its App Store listing says it has been running since 2001 with millions of members, and the whole thing is built for couples who want to swap, share and play with other couples and open-minded singles. One login also opens Swing.com, the sister site where clubs and organisers post parties, takeovers and lifestyle cruises.

It's busy. When we checked, the SLS NOW box showed about 1,000 swingers online, 4,500 new swingers this week, 16,300 new pictures this week and 14,927 swinger groups. The slogan under the member carousel says it all: "Real Swingers, No Models".

• Age and ID: members must be 18+; the Terms describe a review of your government-issued ID to verify age and identity, and every new profile is approved manually.

• Features: member profiles with photos and a video, messages and instant messages, private Gallery shared only with members you approve, forums, groups, erotic stories, articles, a swingers clubs directory, clubs by state, party listings and Swing.com events (Bliss and Desire cruises, resort takeovers).

How it works

Sign up free with a profile name, email and phone number, describe yourselves (couple, single woman, single man), then wait for SLS staff to approve the profile. From there, browse by location, check who's online in SLS NOW, and use groups and forums to find your local crowd. The heart of the site is the party calendar: house parties, club nights, hotel takeovers and the big travel events like Bliss Cruise and Hedonism trips listed through Swing.com, with hosts and attendees all in the same network.

Profiles are explicit about what people want — soft swap, full swap, same room, unicorns, hotwife — and the private Gallery lets you share your sexier photos only with members you unlock. Everything goes through human moderation, so fake "model" profiles are less of a plague than on mainstream apps.

Pricing

SLS shows its prices where you buy: the App Store listing puts the 1-month subscription at $19.99 or $24.99 (two tiers, not explained), with 3 months from $29.99, 12 months from $69.99 and a lifetime membership from $149.99. That lifetime option is rare and makes SLS cheap for couples who stay in the lifestyle for years. On the website you can also pay by card, other electronic methods or even by mailed check. The catch: every fee is non-refundable, so start with a month if you're not sure, and turn off auto-renew 24 hours before the end of an App Store period.

Pros

• Huge, active swinger network since 2001
• Party, club and cruise listings with Swing.com events
• Lifetime membership option from $149.99
• Public prices on the App Store listing
• Government-ID checks and manual review of every profile
• Private Gallery shared only with chosen members

Cons

• Free accounts can barely do anything
• No refunds on any membership fee
• Dated, cluttered design
• Strongly US-centred community
• Two price tiers per plan without explanation

Who it is for

SLS is for swinging couples and open-minded singles in North America, or anyone travelling there, who want parties, clubs and cruises with people who've done it before. In France and French-speaking Europe, Wyylde is the better bet. For a bigger international network with travel mode, compare with SDC or Kasidie; to find a third through an app, try Feeld; for kink events, FetLife. All of them are ranked in our best swinger sites guide.

Verdict

7.1/10. SwingLifestyle is a swinger veteran with real activity, real parties and a rare lifetime plan, plus ID checks and human moderation that keep the fakes down. It looks like 2008 and the free tier is a teaser, and no fee is ever refunded — but if you're a couple in the US scene, SLS is still one of the first two sites to join.
